Undertaking voluminous projects sometimes involve alliances that will require an NDA because we give insight in our methodology. The division of the tasks will be agreed according to the 3-Phase-strategy.
Phase-I
A task to perform is the disentanglement of legacy systems and configuring technical directions. A partner that has skills in the existing platform environment as well as the new target platform environment performs this phase. The task of the partner during Phase-I is to undertake all the preparatory activities like site survey, application detachment, inventorisation and architecturing the required results, as well as preparing specific Conversion Rules (CR).
Phase-II
Configuring the automated conversion process, optimization, alignment and restructuring of the resulting code and producing the required target code results are entirely performed by the CCC (Cornerstone Competence Center) based on the results from Phase-I.
Phase-III
Major tasks are compilation, on site testing and reintegrating the production libraries. A partner with skills in the new target environment performs this phase.
Most effectively but not necessarily, Phase-I and Phase-III are performed by one partner. The partner must be able to perform the specific tasks based on own expertise. Because the actual conversion process is fully automatic, the Conversion & Migration business is volume independent. Compilation, testing and user integration test require more volume related elapsed-times, but still much shorter test times due to the automatic process and active support of G4/Repository.
Critical Success Factors
One tool, one methodology, one learning curve for almost all opportunities. G4/Sigma a multi-platform, multi-language, multi database analysis and conversion platform. G4/EAM multi IT environment ERP system. System Integrators specific functionality through white-box architectures and open meta-information database. UML and XMI support. Compliance with system methodologies like ITIL, CMM, Mikado, ARM, Omega and CSF.
